November’s Meeting!

The November meeting was kicked off by Dan Wasserstrom, Vice Flight Captain at 1130 at the McChord AFB Club. The November meeting is when the Flight selects its slate of officers for the following year. This year, due to the Convention in May, it was moved and seconded that the 2008 staff be carried over to 2009 to provide continuity going into the convention. Therefore, the staff for 2009 will be:

• Col Joe Wiley, Flight Captain (Commander of the 62nd Operations Group)
• Lt Col Dan Wasserstrom (Ret), Vice Flight Captain
• Lt Col Jack Krause (Ret), Scholarships
• Lt Col Steve Kernstock (Ret), Treasurer
• Major Bill Vetters (Ret), Provost Marshall
• Major Ron Storbeck (Ret), Historian
• Lt Col Ron Russo (Ret), Chaplain
• Lt Col Terry Sullivan (Ret), Adjutant

In addition to the election, Major General Brown and Terry Sullivan brought folks up to speed on the convention. General Brown talked about the good possibility that Gen Schwartz, USAF Chief of Staff, will be in attendance (always affected by real-world operational requirements). A run down on the registration form and costs was presented by Sullivan. After some discussion, a working committee chaired by Gordon Wolhfeil will take a look at the transportation costs and see if an alternate, less expensive plan can be developed.

It was also most excellent of Lt Col James Shigekane, Commander of the 10th Airlift Squadron at McChord, to bring seven of his pilots to the meeting. Great seeing the younger faces and those green bags!! Kudos to Col Shigekane and the 10th AS!!
