Mount Rainier

For those of living in the Pacific Northwest we normally get our weather reports from looking out the window! The Puget Sound area, wedged between the Olympic Mountains on the west and the Cascades on the east and moderated by the waters of the Sound, can experience any variety of weather conditions. In the April/May timeframe, we normally find the weather to be a bit unpredictable. For those of you from the sunny south you’ll most likely find the weather a bit cooler with an average temperature in May of around 55 degrees. We’d suggest you layer your clothing, dress casual, and, of course, plan on some of that famous Seattle area rain! For those wanting to stay dry, check out the “It Never Rains In Seattle” umbrellas available at the hospitality suite (all proceeds go to Cascade Flight’s scholarship fund)!

One thing to remember is that Seattle actually ranks about 30th in the continental United States for rainfall, preceded by such places as Miami, New York, Atlanta, St. Louis, to name a few. So come prepared to see Mount Rainier (14,410 feet), take a cruise on Elliott Bay, and enjoy the wines and food of the Pacific Northwest. We sincerely hope you enjoy your stay and that we wet your appetite for a return visit! Come see the Emerald City on the occasion of the Diamond Anniversary of the Order of Daedalians!
